If you do a search in the Sonar forum for o1v control surface you should be able to find it. Oh, if you were to go this route, there's a plug in to get the control surface running, works without problems. These beasties show up used in the neighborhood of $550. They're a bit more real-estate, a bit more money, but a lot more functionality. I never realized how accustomed to counting by 8's I'd become working with ADATs over the years. Only weird thing about it is you have to relearn to count in increments of 14, as that's the number of channel faders you have to work with. Neat thing is you also get a decent digital mixer with 12 mic pre's and 2 effects processors. Gives you mutes, solos, pans, and volumes, also track arming and transport in different modes. That doesn't sound AS bad, at least there seems to be some workarounds. I"m on the fence about getting a BCR so I've been following the separate discussions as they develop. There's a yahoogroup and assorted other mean of getting the new one and tweaking it per unit.Īt least, I THINK that's what's going on. Some workaround have been using a variant of Mackie Emulation mode to get the faders to fly, and someone was so peeved by the lack of response for the UCS issue they re-wrote a UCS that DOES provide feedback.

The UCS isn't a "full duplex" control surface.so it doesn't allow the set values to be spat back to the units, hence it's not capable of flying faders and changing indicators. With the current implementation, both units use a variant of the Universal Control Surface for Sonar. The Behringer units are capable of feedback in that the faders on the BCF can move and the rotary pots on the BCR can set their light indicators on the fly as you switch parameters or banks or what have you.
